Mafer was founded in 1989 as a technical-commercial structure able to follow, technically and commercially, the secondary railway companies operating in Southern Italy.

So, by the suggestion of Wabco Westinghouse, Alfonso Buccarella established it with the collaboration of his sons Fernando (Technical Field), Massimiliano (Commercial Area) and his daughter Ileana (Administrative Area), still the main pins of the Company.

Subsequently, in the years 2003/2004 Mafer, thanks to the experience gained by its founder in the 35 years of activity at the Ferrovie Sud Est, starts an industrial site where he carries out the activity of Review of pneumatic equipment Faiveley Transport, with the consent of the same.

Mafer deals with:

• Sale of components for on-board train systems;
• Sale of components for railway line installations;
• Sale of components for railway station installations.

• It also offers the following services:

• Service Maintenance of the rolling stock and the means constituting the fleets of the operating companies, to be carried out at their maintenance sites, according to a program previously agreed with the technicians of the companies themselves;
• Retrofit interventions on vehicles and vehicles equipped with equipment produced by the companies represented;
• Revision and repair and testing of brake systems on board railway rolling stock and pneumatic, electric and electropneumatic loose components.
